How to order
1. Adding items to the cart
Browse the gallery and add items to your cart. If an item is for sale, you can click the link with its price to add it to the cart. If prints are available, you can click that price.
When an item has been added to the cart, the item's page will say so. Click the "cart" link to see and edit its contents.
2. Managing the cart
In the cart, you can remove originals from your order, and increase or decrease the number of each added print, by clicking the appropriate links.
Your cart contents will be remembered automatically by the use of a technology called cookies. The cart will not function if your browser or firewall blocks the use of cookies. If an original is sold to someone else, it will disappear from your cart.
You can use the radio buttons at the top of the cart to change what currency the prices are displayed in, and the checkbox at the bottom of the cart to select whether you want insured shipping (registered mail/rekommenderat brev) or not.
An estimated shipping rate for your order will be shown, based on the currency selected, the number of items in the cart, and whether you have selected insured shipping. The shipping estimator cannot presently estimate shipping for orders of more than ten items, or orders including sculptures; these will be calculated manually upon order.
When you're satisfied with the contents of your cart, you can proceed to the checkout by clicking the button at the bottom of the page.
3. Checking out
When checking out, you will be asked for your contact information, your preferred method of payment and any comments you might want to accompany your order. Your e-mail address is required; everything else is optional.
You are advised to fill in your address at this step, so you do not forget to do so later. Do not forget to include your country. When you're done, click "Submit".
4. Order summary and invoice
When you click "Submit", a summary of your order and checkout information will be e-mailed to you and to Johanna. She will make sure no ordered items are previously claimed, and verify the shipping cost. She will then send you an invoice with your order details and instructions on how to pay.
If you want to change or cancel your order, contact Johanna.
If you're changing your order, do not pay until you receive a new, updated invoice. Once paid, orders can typically not be changed or cancelled. Once shipped, orders can not be changed.
5. Shipment
When the payment has arrived, the order will be packaged and sent off. For more information on rates and times, refer to the shipping section.
How to pay
Swedish kronor (SEK), US dollars (USD), Euros (EUR) and British pounds (GBP) are preferred. Other currencies may be accepted.
Suggested methods of payment are
- by credit card or bank through PayPal;
- between bank accounts (Swedish accounts only);
- well-concealed cash (no coins) by mail to
Johanna Öst
Backbyvägen 13
782 30 Malung
Sweden
Other methods of payment are probably fine, as long as any transaction costs are covered by the buyer.
When you pay, make sure Johanna knows where you are and what you are paying for. If you entered your address when you ordered, you only need to state your order number.
Shipping rates
These rates are, of course, only rough estimates, as all items do not weigh the same and come with different backing boards. As orders are not packaged until invoiced and payed for, sometimes the shipping charged will be a little less and sometimes a little more than the actual shipping.
| Items | Destination | Shipping |
|---|---|---|
| 1 - 2 | Sweden | 11 SEK |
| 3 - 10 | Sweden | 22 SEK |
| 1 - 2 | Europe | €2 / £2 |
| 3 - 10 | Europe | €5 / £4 |
| 1 - 2 | The world | $4 USD |
| 3 - 10 | The world | $9 USD |
These rates are for items in A4 size or smaller. Larger items make for higher shipping rates.
Shipping for larger quantities than 10, and for sculptures, will not be estimated upon order but calculated manually.
Registered (insured) mail to Sweden is an additional 50 SEK for values up to 5000 SEK. Registered mail to Europe and the world is an additional $11 USD for values up to $85 USD or an additional $16 USD for values up to $1 693 USD.
The package is normally sent within days of received payment. If Johanna is away from home, she will let you know when your order will be shipped. The package usually arrives one working day after being sent for buyers in Sweden; within 2 - 5 working days for most buyers in Europe; and within 7 working days for buyers in the rest of the world.
Why are the prices changing?
The prices in foreign currencies automatically follow the the exchange rate, updated daily from Johanna's bank.
The prices in SEK, Swedish kronor, only vary when Johanna decides to change them.
This means that prices will appear to go up when your currency is weak against the SEK, and that they will appear to go down when your currency is strong against the SEK.
How do I change the currency for prices?
On your first visit to the site, a currency is automatically selected based on where in the world you appear to be visiting from. The currency can be changed at any time, in the cart.
The currencies available on this site are Swedish kronor (SEK), US dollars (USD), Euros (EUR) and British pounds (GBP). Other currencies may be accepted.
How do the prints come?
Prints are produced by a photo printer onto matte quality paper (170 g/m²), from high resolution scans. They do not feature the copyright watermark present on the images in this gallery.
Prints are A4 size (21 x 30 cm, 8.3 x 11.8 inches), with a white border and the artist's name under the picture. They are signed on request.
If prints of a gallery item are available, you can see an automated estimation of what they will look like by clicking "Preview".
If the original is small and does not enlarge well, the image on the print will be small as well. This will usually be reflected in the print preview.
If prints are not available, this might be because the original is sold and there is no high resolution scan; or that the original is crinkled and hard to scan; or that Johanna didn't think anyone would want a print of the item.
You can always contact Johanna and see if she can make you a print of an item, even if prints of it are not offered on the site.
