Artistic process
Johanna rarely makes preliminary sketches. Pencil outlines are drawn directly on the paper and then refined.
The medium is typically watercolour, with touches of white acrylic, on various kinds of paper. The background usually gets painted last.
Several hours of work are invested into each painting, often over the course of a week or so.
Below, you can watch a Flash animation showing the progression of a painting, as well as still images of the same process.
